Toldo Lancer Centre
Lieu
The Toldo Lancer Centre is a significant expansion of the University of Windsor's recreation facilities, completed in July 2022. Connected to the existing St. Denis Centre, the new building adds over 120,000 square feet of space for athletics and social gathering. The project was notably funded by a historic $55 million contribution from the student body, aiming to create a central hub that supports the physical and mental health of both students and the surrounding community.
The facility features several major amenities, including the "Lancer Commons," a large social hub with views into the different athletic areas. Key fitness features include a new triple gymnasium used for varsity sports and convocation, a two-level fitness centre with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a 25-metre, 8-lane swimming pool. The pool was specifically designed with a zero-entry ramp to ensure it is accessible to people with mobility limitations.
Beyond the workout spaces, the TLC focuses heavily on inclusivity and modern design. It incorporates a 200-metre suspended walking track, universal change rooms, and fully accessible pathways throughout the building. The centre also prioritizes sustainability and efficiency, utilizing high-performance LED lighting and integrated technology like the Fusion Go app to manage facility access and memberships.

The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor
Lieu
Caesars Windsor is a casino and hotel resort located on the waterfront in Windsor, Ontario, overlooking the Detroit skyline. Originally opened in 1994 as Casino Windsor, it is owned by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation but operated by Caesars Entertainment. The resort features two hotel towers, a convention center, and a 5,000-seat entertainment venue known as the Colosseum. While it draws millions of visitors annually from Canada and the United States, it has had to adapt to challenges such as increased border security, currency exchange fluctuations, and competition from neighboring Detroit casinos.
