Description: Organizational Profile For 37 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario ("the Chapter") has been improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families through the creation of a home-away-from-home for families of sick children who are receiving specialized treatment at local hospitals. An essential part of the Pediatric Healthcare system -we care for the families of critically ill children so they stay close to their sick child. Established in 1985, the Chapter has experienced significant growth with the original 15-bedroom house expanding to 40 rooms in 2022, the introduction of a Family Room at London Children’s Hospital in 2012 and the opening of the first in Canada House within-a-Hospital in Windsor Regional Hospital in 2016 allowing the organization to make a significant impact on Ontario families. Our Mission To provide comforting and supportive services and programs for families of seriously ill children who require medical care The Opportunity We currently have openings on our Board of Directors effective April 2022. As a member of the Board, you will have a governance role in providing financial and strategic oversight for the Chapter. We are looking for Board Members who are: Passionate about the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario Committed to being an: active member of the Board of Directors, able and willing to fulfill all key responsibilities –governance, strategic planning, financial, risk management, and oversight – Community Ambassadors who will promote the vision, mission and goals of RMHC Canada in the community Dedicated volunteers will engage in all board activities to support and promote a culture of high performance, ethical behavior, accountability, transparency, and open communication Committed to professional development and will attend training and workshops as appropriate to expand their skills and knowledge Prepare for, and attend, Board meetings, actively participating in discussions and decisions Provide counsel and input to review strategy and approaches, based on specific areas of expertise Candidate Profile RMHC-SWO is seeking up to five individuals to join the Board of Directors in April 2022, experienced in one or more of the following areas: •Business Entrepreneur and/ or Business Management •Financial Management and Risk Oversight •Capital Campaign and Fundraising Experience •Government Relations •Pediatric Healthcare •Board Governance •Lived Experience with RMH Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario (RMHC-SWO) has made the decision to implement a COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff, volunteers, guest families, visitors, and contractors. MS Walk Event Day Volunteers

Description: The 2024 Windsor MS Walk is taking place Sunday May 26th 11:00 am at Riverside Sportsman Club. The MS Walk is a community‐driven event for people living with or affected by Multiple Sclerosis as well as those who want to support our vision of creating a world free of MS. Tens of thousands of Canadians come together in their communities every May to participate, fundraise and volunteer in MS Walk to help find the cause and cure for this disease. These events would not be possible without the support of hundreds of dedicated volunteers given their time. There are various areas on site (Event set up/wrap up, parking control, participant check in area, checkpoint set up/attendants, route guides, food & beverage area, kids activity area, start/finish line cheering, volunteer check in) where volunteer help is needed to ensure that this event runs smoothly and participants have a great experience while they are walking to raise critical funds to support those effected by MS. Interested? Here’s what we’re looking for: · Energizing and Positive Attitude.
